Forum and Profile added to site

Over the weekend, I have spent a little time adding a forum and a manage profile page to the site

A link can be found for both in the right hand panel. The profile link will only display if you are logged in to the site, but the Forum link is available for everyone.

When you sign up for an account on Supreme-Commander.co.uk, a forum account will automatically be created for you with the same details. Once you are signed in to the main site, you can go to your profile, and change your password to one that you may find easier to remember. Changing the password through the main site profile will ALSO change your password on the forum, so you don't need to change it twice.

We still have some changes to the theme on the forums to make, as it is currently using the default theme of the software, but functionally, it is ready to dive right in and start posting.

We hope that you enjoy the new additions, and keep your eyes peeled for more file additions to the site in the coming days and weeks.

2008 - 11 Years on & Still Going Strong!

It's been roughly 11 years now since Total Annihilation was released. I find it amazing that it's still being played and whats more maps are still being created for it. In honour of that milestone I spent some time this weekend having a dig around and adding some of the more 'fun maps' from my collection to the site.

Painted Desert 2 City Wars 2 Mountain Pass

We have also added a slew more Supreme Commander maps and even found the time to get the TA tileset section off the ground.

I personally had some fun playing the three maps above (SC & FA) so I thought I'd bring them to your attention.

News Hounds

Those of you that frequent the site may have noticed that there have been very few news updates to the front page recently...

If you enjoy SC and/or TA, and would be interested in posting news related to one or both of these fine games here on supreme-commander.co.uk, then drop us a line. We are looking for conciencious people that would be interested in spending a couple of hours a week posting news to the site that would be of interest/relevance to fellow players.

If you think you can breath life into the SC.co.uk news page, hit the Contact Us link now for more information!

Blasted Lands

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this map. It certainly had promise and to be honest my current play style favours this four corner approach at the moment.

Prev and I set up a four player game and mayhem ensued. After six hours of hardened game play I can thoroughly give this map a thumb’s up. The corner defence areas are large enough to build just about any base you like.

Be careful with the walls though. You can place Anti Air on them if you have flying builders (see the units section) but placing any kind of standard line of sight fire power on the walls is mostly a waste of time.

Still the map plays well the AI had no trouble locating us and attempting to end our existence. At the end we had to call it a draw and make our plans for the 'rest of our lives' you can only play SC for so long honest!

Grab the map from our our SC files database. Don't forget we wont make you jump though hoops to download and you wont get bombarded with pop up. Just plain old fashions files when you need them direct from a reliable source.

Island Siege

Island SiegeThose that know me will acknowledge I'm not the largest fan of naval battles, perhaps it's because I get sea sick so easy, or that I just hate those pesky subs. Either way It doesnt stop me from standing on a chair and shouting about a 'fantastic map' when I see one.

Island Siege by Cael is a great example of what you can do if you put your mind to it. A 40 X 40 map essentially designed for 4 vs 4 play.

It's a hard map in that nothing comes easy (other than the enemy) but an excellent map none the less. Again its a map created with the HazardX's Unofficial Map Editor but until SupCom get their own tools out it's proving to be a great tool for the community at large.

Having played this 1 on 1 as well I can safely say this is a map that will give you hours and hours of joy and teeth gnashing. The resources are in my opinion spread just about right and mean you need to work at it, as I said nothing comes easy on this map!

Grab the map here or visit our SC files database. Don't forget we wont make you jump though hoops to download and you wont get bombarded with pop up. Just plain old fashions files when you need them direct from a reliable source.
